The Apple Watch Hermes (Series 3) models represent an "iconic collaboration" between Apple and French luxury brand Hermes. Like earlier Apple Watch Hermes devices, this model essentially is a 38 mm 316L stainless steel Apple Watch Series 3 model -- complete with 272x340 OLED display covered by a protective sapphire crystal layer -- but with software tweaks. Also like earlier Hermes models, the Apple Watch Hermes (Series 3) include the three previous exclusive software watch faces in classic Hermes fonts -- Clipper, Cape Cod, and Espace -- but add a fourth option, Carrick. All are bundled with a choice of Hermes designed watch bands in custom packaging, too.
High-end Apple Watch Series 3 models, like the Hermes line, include GPS and GLONASS capabilities, a barometric altimeter, and Siri support, in addition to wireless 3G capability, which means that it is capable of being connected to the Internet without a "tethered" iPhone and this line is the first Apple Watch series with that capability (although it only can be used on the same carrier as your iPhone).
Like earlier Apple Watch models, all Apple Watch Series 3 devices are controlled with a Force Touch capable display and a "Digital Crown," but the cellular capable models add a red dot to the Digital Crown for easy collective identification.
Battery life is an Apple estimated "up to 18 hours" overall, but more specifically "up to 3 hours" of talk time connected to an iPhone, "over 1 hour" connected to LTE, "up to 10 hours" of audio playback, "up to 10 hours" working out indoors, "up to 5 hours" working out outdoors with GPS, and "up to 4 hours" working out outdoors with GPS and LTE.
There are four different options for this particular Apple Watch Series 3 Hermes model. All use a stainless steel housing, but band options include a patterned navy blue Marine Gala Leather Single Tour Eperon d'Or (photo, left) band, an Indigo Swift Leather Double Tour band, a Fauve Barenia Leather Double Tour band (photo, right), and a Fauve Barenia Leather Single Tour band.
In addition to the leather band, each also shipped with a second orange colored fluoroelastomer "Hermes Sport Band" intended for working out.
