To all my Students and Subscribers,
Plymouth Clocks made a clock that will last for generations of use. American Clock Movements are one of the top choices for collectors. Its heavy duty H style frame and large mainsprings makes it strong to outlast many life times of use. All it needs is a little TLC when it stops. That's where you come in
When was the last time you picked up a clock and wondered what it'd be like to fix it. What is it that clockmakers know that seems Magical? How hard could it be to learn? Could I really do this?
At less than half the cost of other Training Video's you can experience it for yourself. The video puts you closeup at the workbench instructed every step of the way. Each video takes you from start to finish on a specific clock so your not flooded with information applicable to other clocks.
My teaching philosophy, I want to amaze my students with how much they can learn in a shorter amount of time.
Welcome to my Clock Repair Series, this DVD features the American Plymouth Clock Movement with Time & Strike, more than 2 hours long
There are hundreds of Clocks waiting to be repaired and you'll find them at yard sales, auctions and even your own attic or basement. Increase their value and beauty so they can be enjoyed by the next generation.
I created this Movement Specific Video to help you through the repair process and theory of clock movement operations. I explain the repair process by putting myself in your position. This movement is used in several different clock cases. Many techniques learned here are similar in other Time & Strike & Chiming Movements. In the main menu you'll have the option of watching it straight through or skip to any of its many Chapters.
German and French Movements are more delicate and should only be attempted after American Time & Strike Movements such as this one become a Piece of Cake.
I'll show you the steps such as Examination, Letting down the mainsprings, Spliting the plates, Cleaning and polishing the working components, Repairs as needed such as Bushing Work, Assembly and Timing the Strike Train.

Let me show you what it would be like to pickup a Clock and see in your mind how it works,
the many wheels turning so slowly that it takes a week or more to unwind. Taking it a step further, how could these wheels be made to run so precisely and why do they stop after so many years of running. You'll begin to recognize the worn area's and know how to repair it back to original health. This is what I show and explain in my Video's.
