    Description

    Shimano 105 Rear Derailleur Long Cage RD-5501.
    The long cage version of these can be highly sought after. It allows you to run a far wider gear range Cassette or allows easy use comparability with crank sets that have three rings.
    Very popular with riders on traditional touring bikes, road bikes wanting a wider range cassette, recumbant bikes of all types and more.
    These have been used successfully to use a 10speed 12/32 mountain cassette on a 2x10 road bike. I can not personally advise how to do this but I do know online forums with instructions on how to do this mention this spacific derailleur.
    The return springs are all still in very good shape with a strong snap back. The guide pulleys still have some life left in them but you may want to change those for trouble free quiet chain operation for much longer.
